Kevin Tym (Edmonton, AB) finished 1-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tym lost 7-6 to Warren Kozak (Calgary, AB), droppimg another game, 12-6 to Ryan Parent (Calgary, AB) where Tym responded with a 8-1 win over Pierre Desrochers (Sherwood Park, AB). Tym went on to lose 10-7 against Jacob Libbus (Okotoks, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Tym earned 0.563 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 23 of the event schedule, Tym did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Tym ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
