Richard Hawkins (East St. Paul, MB) finished 1-2 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hawkins lost 8-3 to Wayne Ewasko (Beausejour, MB), then responded with a 5-3 win over Aaron Van Ryssel (Dugald, MB). Hawkins went on to lose 11-6 against Ewasko in their final qualifying round match.
