Owen Purcell (Halifax, NS) qualified for the 2022 Superstore Monctonian Challenge playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-4 against Tyler Smith (Charlottetown, PEI).

Purcell finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Purcell defeated Tyler Harris (Charlottetown, PEI) 12-3, then won 10-3 against Scott Jones (Moncton, NB) and 8-0 against Andrew Gibson (Halifax, NS). Purcell won 7-5 against Jack Smeltzer (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

Purcell earned 6.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Superstore Monctonian Challenge, remaining in 38th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 2.45 after improving upon their best so far this season. Purcell ranks 36th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 70.375 points earned so far this season.
