Gorveatt won 8-4 against Peter Mackey (Iqaluit, NU), then won 7-4 against Terry Miller (Whitehorse, YK). Gorveatt went on to lose 9-2 against Al Hackner (Thunder Bay, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
