Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT) finished 3-4 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Genner lost 9-2 to Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED), then responded with a 7-4 win over Steve Seixeiro (Lisbon, POR). Genner won 9-1 against Kristof Czermann (Budapest, HUN). Genner went on to lose 8-6 against Eddy Mercier (Megeve, FRA). Genner responded with a 9-4 win over Stefan Sever (Ljubljana, SLO). Genner went on to lose 12-7 against Martins Truksans (Riga, LAT). Genner lost 10-3 to Timothy Verreycken (Zemst, BEL) in their final qualifying round match.

Genner earned 3.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 17 of the event schedule, Genner did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Genner ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
