Alastair Fyfe (Riyadh, KSA) finished 2-5 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fyfe lost 15-3 to Rayad Husain (Georgetown, GUY), droppimg another game, 14-2 to Jason Chang (Hong Kong, HKG) where Fyfe responded with a 7-6 win over Harold Woods (Accra, NGR). Fyfe won 10-8 against Oliver Echenje (Nairobi, KEN). Fyfe went on to lose 7-4 against Adil Zhumagozha (Almaty, KAZ). Fyfe lost 15-0 to P.N. Raju (Hyderabad, IN). Fyfe lost 8-5 to Lajos Belleli (Doha, QAT) in their final qualifying round match.

Fyfe earned 0.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 14 of the event schedule, Fyfe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Fyfe ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
