Kristy Watling (Winnipeg, MB) lost 1-0 to Jolene Campbell (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the MCT Shootout, held October 13 - 15, 2023 at the Selkirk Curling Club in Selkirk, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Watling won 1-0 over Jennifer Clark-Rouire (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals
Watling finished 3-1 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Watling defeated Emma Jensen (Winnipeg, MB) 7-6, then won 8-3 against Patty Wallingham (Whitehorse, YK) and 5-4 against Rhonda Varnes (Winnipeg, MB). Watling went on to lose 1-0 against Beth Peterson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the MCT Shootout, Watling take home 8.250 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize. Watling move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 4.5 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 49th overall with 62.625 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
