Jessica Smith (Naseby, NZL) finished 4-4 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith lost 11-3 to Kerri Einarson (Gimli, CAN), then responded with a 11-3 win over Yekaterina Kolykhalova (Almaty, KAZ). Smith went on to lose 11-1 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Smith lost 10-6 to Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR) where Smith responded with a 8-6 win over Hong Kong's Ling-Yue Hung. Smith won 10-7 against Australia's Jennifer Westhagen, then won 10-4 against Brazil's Isis Oliviera. Smith went on to lose 9-2 against Tabitha Peterson (Chaska, USA) in their final qualifying round match.

Smith earned 9.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 14 of the event schedule, Smith did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Smith ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
