Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) won 5-4 over Aaron Sluchinski (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Original 16 Mens Cash Spiel, held November 11 - 13, 2022 in Calgary, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Whyte won 5-3 over Kody Hartung (Saskatoon, SK) in the semifinals of the 2022 Original 16 Mens Cash Spiel in Calgary, Alberta; and won 5-3 over Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 Original 16 Mens Cash Spiel in Calgary, Alberta;

Whyte finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB) 5-1, then won 10-2 against Jordan Peters (Winnipeg, MB) and 5-2 against Jacob Libbus (Okotoks, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Original 16 Mens Cash Spiel Championship title, Whyte earned 30.000 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque. Whyte move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 15 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 9th overall with 213.860 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Whyte ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 112.500 points earned so far this season.
