Papley/van Amsterdam finished 5-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Papley/van Amsterdam defeated Claire Randell/Nicholas Lemieux (St. Catharines, ON) 7-1, then won 10-2 against Plett/Macaulay and 8-6 against British Columbia's Emily Bowles/Sterling Middleton. Papley/van Amsterdam won 8-1 against Emma Wiens/Andrew Nowell (Weyburn, SK), then won 9-3 against Ontario's Sarah Bailey/Dylan Sipura in their final qualifying round match.
