To advance to the championship game, Vavrek won 6-3 over Anton Hood (Naseby, NZL) in the semifinals
Vavrek finished 3-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Vavrek defeated Ryan Parent (Calgary, AB) 6-3, then won 5-3 against Yeongseok Jeong (Gangwo, KOR) and 10-4 against Beau Cornelson (Camrose, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Curling Stadium Alberta Curling Series #3 Championship title, Vavrek earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 46 spots the World Ranking Standings into 111th place overall with 24.116 total points. Vavrek ranks 101st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.250 points earned so far this season.
