Meghan Walter (Winnipeg, MB) won 7-3 over Nancy Martin (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the DEKALB Superspiel, held December 2 - 5, 2022 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Walter won 8-7 over Clancy Grandy (Vancouver, BC) in the semifinals of the 2022 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada; and won 7-0 over Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada;
Walter finished 4-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walter lost 7-4 to Delaney Strouse (Minneapolis , MN), then responded with a 9-2 win over Kim Rhyme (St. Paul, MN). Walter won 8-4 against Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC), then won 7-5 against Andrea Kelly (Fredericton, NB) and 9-1 against Christine McMakin (Fargo, ND) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the DEKALB Superspiel Championship title, Walter earned 41.250 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN first prize cheque. Walter move up 15 spots after posting a net gain of 35.75 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 21st overall with 135.644 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Walter ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 111.250 points earned so far this season.
