In their opening game, Massachusetts's Brendan Hurd defeated Minnesota's Edric Funk 10-1, then went on to lose 6-3 against North Carolina's Nick Miles. Massachusetts's Brendan Hurd lost 8-2 to Ohio's Jared Kies where Massachusetts's Brendan Hurd responded with a 10-4 win over California's Adam Blacksher. Massachusetts's Brendan Hurd went on to lose 5-2 against Wisconsin's Daniel Bliven in their final qualifying round match.
