Symonds finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Symonds lost 8-3 to Young, then responded with a 6-4 win over Ryan McNeil Lamswood (St. John's, NL). Symonds won 5-4 against Alex Smith (St. John's, NL), then won 11-4 against Frank O'Driscoll (St. John's, NL) and 5-4 against Liam Quinlan (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Rick Rowsell Classic, Symonds take home 11.000 world rankings points along with the $3,400CDN prize, moving up 31 spots the World Ranking Standings into 109th place overall with 25.831 total points. Symonds ranks 68th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.000 points earned so far this season.
