ByeongJin Jeong (Seoul, KOR) lost 11-8 to Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR) in the Final of the Belgium Men's Challenger, held January 26 - 29, 2023 in Zemst, Belgium. To advance to the championship game, Jeong won 7-5 over Rob Retchless (Preston, ENG) in the semifinals of the 2023 Belgium Men's Challenger in Zemst, Belgium; and won 10-3 over Alessandro Odorizzi (Trento, ITA) in the quarterfinals.
Jeong finished 3-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jeong defeated PaweÅ Hertman (Gliwice, POL) 9-4, then won 8-3 against Simon Spits (Zoetermeer, NED) and 12-4 against Sebastiaan Dalle (Zemst, BEL). Jeong went on to lose 9-1 against Karagoz in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Belgium Men's Challenger, Jeong take home 5.500 world rankings points along with the $1,169CDN prize. For week 26 of the event schedule, Jeong did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 37th place on the World Ranking Standings with 104.255 total points. Jeong ranks 29th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 97.125 points earned so far this season.
