Lucy Blair (Stirling, SCO) lost 6-5 to Corrie Huerlimann (Zug, SUI) in the Final of the WCT Latvia International Challenger, held October 21 - 23, 2022 in Tukums, Latvia. To advance to the championship game, Blair won 6-3 over Dilsat Yildiz (Erzurum, TUR) in the semifinals of the 2022 WCT Latvia International Challenger in Tukums, Latvia; and won 10-3 over Eirin Mesloe (Lillehammer, NOR) in the quarterfinals.
Blair finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Blair defeated Evelina Barone (Riga, LAT) 5-3, then went on to lose 7-2 against Yildiz. Blair lost 8-7 to Csilia Halasz (Budapest, HUN) where Blair responded with a 5-2 win over Virginija Paulauskaite (Vilnius, LTU) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the WCT Latvia International Challenger, Blair take home 11.000 world rankings points along with the $1,081CDN prize, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 87th place overall with 23.177 total points. Blair ranks 76th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.500 points earned so far this season.
