Nyman finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nyman defeated Benny Kapp (Fuessen/Oberstdorf , GER) 6-4, then won 12-2 against Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR) and 9-3 against Paweł Hertman (Gliwice, POL). Nyman went on to lose 9-4 against Klima. Nyman responded with a 6-2 win over Timothy Verreycken (Zemst, BEL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Prague Classic Championship title, Nyman earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque. Nyman move up 10 spots after posting a net gain of 18.75 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 27th overall with 104.358 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
