Martins Truksans (Riga, LAT) won 9-3 over Eduard Veltsman (Tallinn, EST) in the Final of the WCT Latvia International Challenger, held October 21 - 23, 2022 in Tukums, Latvia. To advance to the championship game, Truksans won 7-4 over Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT) in the semifinals of the 2022 WCT Latvia International Challenger in Tukums, Latvia; and won 5-2 over Ritvars Gulbis (Riga, LAT) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 WCT Latvia International Challenger in Tukums, Latvia;
Truksans finished 4-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Truksans defeated Sebastiaan Dalle (Zemst, BEL) 11-3, then won 8-6 against Mykhailo Pleskanka (Kyiv, UKR) and 8-4 against Axel Landelius (Mjölby, SWE). Truksans won 9-1 against Kristaps Zass (Riga, LAT) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the WCT Latvia International Challenger Championship title, Truksans earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $1,892CDN first prize cheque. For week 12 of the event schedule, Truksans did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Truksans ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
