To advance to the championship game, Burns won 8-1 over Maddy Warriner (Dundas, ON) in the semifinals of the 2022 Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-4 over Danielle Inglis (Ottawa, ON) in the quarterfinals.
 
Burns finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Burns defeated Sarah Picton (Stroud, ON) 9-2, then went on to lose 7-4 against Ladouceur. Burns responded with a 7-3 win over Lauren Mann (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel, Burns take home 19.250 world rankings points along with the $2,600CDN prize, moving up 33 spots the World Ranking Standings into 65th place overall with 36.632 total points. Burns ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 35.750 points earned so far this season.
