Walstad went on to lose 8-1 against Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO). Walstad responded with a 9-6 win over Mikkel Krause (Hvidovre, DEN). Walstad won 10-6 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR) in their final qualifying round match.

Walstad earned 12.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 17 of the event schedule, Walstad did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Walstad ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
