Connor Kauffman (Blaine, MN) lost 9-8 to Ethan Sampson (Fargo, ND) in the Final of the USA Curling Junior Mens National Championship, held April 23 - 30, 2022 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Kauffman finished 5-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kauffman defeated Sampson 7-6, then won 11-0 against Dayton Neill (Rochester, NY). Kauffman went on to lose 9-4 against Caden Hebert (Eau Claire, WI). Kauffman responded with a 9-0 win over Carter Henry (Portage, WI). Kauffman won 13-4 against Andy Charles (Portage, WI), then won 9-3 against Wesley Wendling (Wausau, WI) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the USA Curling Junior Mens National Championship, Kauffman take home 10.973 world rankings points, moving up 197 spots the World Ranking Standings into 170th place overall with 12.267 total points. Kauffman ranks 170th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.267 points earned so far this season.
