Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) lost 5-3 to Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup, held May 2 - 7, 2023 in Regina, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 8-3 over Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2023 KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup in Regina, Saskatchewan; and won 7-4 over Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup in Regina, Saskatchewan;
Gushue finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) 8-2, then won 7-2 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). Gushue went on to lose 8-4 against Dunstone. Gushue responded with a 9-1 win over Whyte. Gushue won 5-3 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup, Gushue take home 49.500 world rankings points along with the $18,000CDN prize, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 19.5 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 417.000 points earned so far this season.
