McDonald finished 5-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McDonald defeated Luke Steski (West St. Paul, MB) 7-5, then won 11-3 against Lucas Pedersen (Rivers, MB) and 8-1 against Tanner Graham (Petersfield, MB). McDonald won 7-2 against Thomas McGillivray (Winnipeg, MB), then won 9-4 against Cameron Olafson (East St. Paul, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

McDonald ranks 87th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 36.185 points earned so far this season.
