Almida de Val/Oskar Eriksson (Sundbyberg, SWE) lost 8-3 to Kristin Moen Skaslien/Magnus Nedregotten (Oslo, NOR) in the Final of the Gothenburg Mixed Doubles Cup, held December 28 - 30, 2021 in Gothenburg, Sweden. To advance to the championship game, de Val/Eriksson won 6-5 over Jenny Perret/Martin Rios (Glarus, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2021 Gothenburg Mixed Doubles Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden; and won 9-2 over Marie Kaldvee/Harri Lill (Tallinn, EST) in the quarterfinals.

de Val/Eriksson finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, de Val/Eriksson defeated Martine Ronning/Mathias Braenden (Lillehammer, NOR) 10-4, then won 6-4 against Oona Kauste/Aku Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN) and 9-3 against Jasmin Lander/Henrik Holtermann (Hvidovre, DEN). de Val/Eriksson won 5-1 against Daniela Rupp/Kevin Wunderlin (Zug, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Gothenburg Mixed Doubles Cup, de Val/Eriksson take home 37.149 world rankings points along with the $2,798CDN prize, remaining in 778th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 37.15 after improving upon their best so far this season. de Val/Eriksson ranks 23rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 62.922 points earned so far this season.
