Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi (Karuizawa, JPN) finished 2-2 in the 3-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yamaguchi defeated Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) 6-5, then went on to lose 10-4 against Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN). Yamaguchi lost 9-5 to Morozumi where Yamaguchi responded with a 9-6 win over Maeda in their final qualifying round match.
