Asuka Kanai (Karuizawa, JPN) won 6-5 over Yumiko Kashiwagi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the Final Kanai advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Chubu Curling Championships, held April 21 - 24, 2022 in Chubu, Japan.

Kanai finished 4-0 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kanai defeated Aya Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) 13-1, then won 11-2 against Yui Miyagawa (Karuizawa, JPN) and 11-4 against Yoko Miura (Karuizawa, JPN). Kanai won 8-4 against Kashiwagi in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Chubu Curling Championships Championship title, Kanai earned 2.813 world rankings points, moving up 122 spots the World Ranking Standings into 183rd place overall with 2.813 total points. Kanai ranks 183rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.813 points earned so far this season.
