Akane Suzuki (Kanagawa, JPN) lost 7-4 to Tori Koana (Fujiyoshida, JPN) in the Final of the Kanto Curling Championships, held January 14 - 16, 2022 in Kanto, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Suzuki won 6-4 over Japan's Ayako Tanimoto in the semifinals of the 2022 Kanto Curling Championships in Kanto, Japan;
 
Suzuki finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Suzuki lost 7-5 to Sayuri Matsuhashi (Tokyo, JPN), then responded with a 7-2 win over Japan's Yukihiko Nakamura. Suzuki won 5-4 against Japan's Misato Yanagisawa in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Kanto Curling Championships, Suzuki take home 4.538 world rankings points, moving up 182 spots the World Ranking Standings into 172nd place overall with 4.538 total points. Suzuki ranks 146th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.538 points earned so far this season.
