Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) lost 9-5 to Changmin Kim (Uiseong, KOR) in the Final of the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, held November 7 - 13, 2021 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. To advance to the championship game, Morozumi won 8-3 over Ting-Li Lin (Taiwan, TPE) in the semifinals
Morozumi finished 6-0 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Hong Kong's Jason Chang 12-6, then won 8-2 against Kim and 11-4 against Lin. Morozumi won 12-0 against Viktor Kim (Almaty, KAZ), then won 12-0 against Alastair Fyfe (Riyadh, KSA) and 15-1 against Nassar Alyafei (Doha, QAT) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, Morozumi take home 9.405 world rankings points, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 53rd place overall with 64.854 total points. Morozumi ranks 143rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.405 points earned so far this season.
