Mike McLean (Ottawa, ON) lost 5-4 to Jean-Michel Menard (Levis, QC) in the Final of the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, held November 7 - 12, 2021 in Canmore, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, McLean won 6-5 over James Grattan (Fredericton, NB) in the semifinals of the 2022 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Canmore, Alberta;
McLean finished 7-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McLean defeated Terry Miller (Whitehorse, YK) 10-2, then won 10-3 against Jamie Newson (Charlottetown, PEI). McLean went on to lose 8-4 against Dean Grindheim (North Battleford, SK). McLean responded with a 10-2 win over Keith Ryan (Labrador City, NL). McLean won 6-3 against Sebastien Robillard (Kamloops, BC), then won 5-4 against Grattan and 7-3 against Alex Forrest (Winnipeg, MB). McLean went on to lose 7-0 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). McLean lost 8-3 to Trevor Bonot (Thunder Bay, NO) where McLean responded with a 6-4 win over Menard in their final qualifying round match.
