Jed Brundidge (East St. Paul, MN) 9-0, then won 9-3 against Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA) and 9-5 against Rich Ruohonen (Minneapolis, MN). Shuster won 8-4 against Greg Persinger (Fairbanks, AK), then won 8-7 against Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) and 11-3 against Dunnam. Shuster won 9-5 against Ruohonen, then won 8-4 against Persinger. Shuster went on to lose 6-1 against Dropkin. Shuster responded with a 11-4 win over Brundidge in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the US Olympic Team Trials: Curling Championship title, Shuster earned 26.719 world rankings points, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 21st place overall with 153.053 total points. Shuster ranks 26th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 62.121 points earned so far this season.
