Grassie won 7-6 against Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB), then won 7-5 against Shaun Meachem (Swift Current, SK) and 6-5 against Corey Chambers (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Canadian Curling PRE-Trials Drect-Entry Event, Grassie take home 13.200 world rankings points, moving up 8 spots the World Ranking Standings into 36th place overall with 65.635 total points. Grassie ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.814 points earned so far this season.
