Gushue responded with a 8-3 win over Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Gushue went on to lose 10-6 against Dropkin. Gushue responded with a 10-2 win over Soo-Hyuk Kim (Uiseong, KOR). Gushue won 8-6 against Kyle Waddell (Stirling, SCO), then won 9-2 against Tobias Thune (Hvidovre, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.
