To advance to the championship game, Grandy/Janssen won 8-5 over Kimberly Tuck/Wayne Tuck Jr. (Ilderton , ON) in the semifinals of the 2021 St. Thomas Mixed Doubles Classic in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada; and won 9-8 over Catherine Liscumb/Chris Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) in the quarterfinals.

Grandy/Janssen finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grandy/Janssen defeated Michelle Butler/Jerry Butler (Cambridge, ON) 10-2, then won 7-2 against Lyndsey Wilson/Scott Dow (Palmerston , ON) and 8-3 against Joanne Tarvit/Brodie Tarvit (St Thomas, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the St. Thomas Mixed Doubles Classic Championship title, Grandy/Janssen earned 25.274 world rankings points along with the $1,200CDN first prize cheque.
