Gina Aitken (Stirling, UK) lost 9-5 to Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) in the Final of the Saint Petersburg Classic, held September 7 - 12, 2021 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. To advance to the championship game, Aitken won 5-2 over Eve Muirhead (Stirling, UK) in the semifinals of the 2021 Saint Petersburg Classic in Saint Petersburg, Russia; and won 7-1 over Corrie Huerlimann (Zug, SUI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2021 Saint Petersburg Classic in Saint Petersburg, Russia;

Aitken finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Aitken defeated Elena Mathis (St. Moritz, SUI) 7-4, then won 6-4 against Elizaveta Trukhina (Irkutsk, RUS) and 11-1 against Linara Burganova (Saint-Petersburg, RUS). Aitken won 8-5 against Anastasia Babarykina (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Saint Petersburg Classic, Aitken take home 22.367 world rankings points along with the $2,547CDN prize. For week 7 of the event schedule, Aitken did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Aitken ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
