Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) won 9-5 over Gina Aitken (Stirling, UK) in the Final of the Saint Petersburg Classic, held September 7 - 12, 2021 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. To advance to the championship game, Kovaleva won 6-3 over Elena Mathis (St. Moritz, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2021 Saint Petersburg Classic in Saint Petersburg, Russia; and won 9-3 over Dilsat Yildiz (Erzurum, TUR) in the quarterfinals.
 
Kovaleva finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kovaleva defeated Beyzanur Konuksever (Erzurum, TUR) 10-0, then won 9-5 against Eve Muirhead (Stirling, UK) and 7-3 against Viktoria Enbaeva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS). Kovaleva won 6-4 against Ksenia Novikova (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Saint Petersburg Classic Championship title, Kovaleva earned 30.501 world rankings points along with the $3,745CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 9th place overall with 149.330 total points. Kovaleva ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 30.501 points earned so far this season.
