In their opening game, Whyte defeated Rob Johnson (Calgary, AB) 5-4, then won 6-5 against Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) to advance to the A-Qualifier where they 6-1 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
