Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) qualified for the 2021 ATB Okotoks Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-3 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). of the 2021 ATB Okotoks Classic in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada;

Sturmay finished 4-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Ryan Parent (Edmonton, AB) 7-5, then went on to lose 6-5 against Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO). Sturmay won 6-3 against Nathan Molberg (St. Albert, AB) to advance to a B-Qualifier game where they lost 8-5 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) to drop into a C-Qualifier game where they responded with a 9-4 win over SooHyuk Kim (Uiseong, KOR) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.

Sturmay earned 17.558 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the ATB Okotoks Classic, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 25th place overall with 86.080 total points. Sturmay ranks 18th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 21.082 points earned so far this season.
