Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI) won 7-2 over Corrie Huerlimann (Zug, SUI) in the Final of the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic, held November 10 - 14, 2021 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. To advance to the championship game, Birt won 7-5 over Jill Brothers (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2021 Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic in Halifax, Nova Scotia; and won 8-4 over Sarah Hill (St. John's, NL) in the quarterfinals.
Birt finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birt lost 5-2 to Taylour Stevens (Chester, NS), then responded with a 8-0 win over Jessica Daigle (Halifax, NS). Birt won 7-5 against Rebecca Morrison (GB, UK) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic Championship title, Birt earned 30.274 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 118.220 total points. Birt ranks 31st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 46.005 points earned so far this season.
