Stuart Thompson (Halifax, NS) won 9-3 over Felix Asselin (Montreal, QC) in the Final of the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic, held November 10 - 14, 2021 at the Halifax Curling Club in Halifax, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Thompson won 7-1 over Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) in the semifinals   of the 2021 Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; and won 7-3 over Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2021 Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; 
 
Thompson finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson defeated Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL) 7-2, then won 6-2 against Asselin and 7-3 against Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic Championship title, Thompson earned 34.223 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN first prize cheque. Thompson move up 17 spots after posting a net gain of 32.375 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 39th overall with 89.050 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Thompson ranks 27th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 59.051 points earned so far this season.
