Ross Whyte (Dumfries, SCO) lost 6-5 to Ross Paterson (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Curling Championships, held February 21 - 27, 2022 at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland.
 
Whyte finished 8-2 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Mark Watt (Perth, SCO) 7-6, then went on to lose 7-3 against James Craik (Forfar, SCO). Whyte responded with a 8-3 win over Jack Strawhorn (Dumfries, SCO). Whyte won 8-7 against Cameron Bryce (Kelso, SCO), then won 10-8 against Paterson and 10-3 against Watt. Whyte won 6-5 against Craik, then won 8-4 against Strawhorn and 10-3 against Bryce. Whyte went on to lose 6-4 against Paterson in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Scottish Curling Championships, Whyte take home 17.086 world rankings points. Whyte gained 9.406 points improving upon their best 6 events, though dropped 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 13thplace overall with 227.977 total points. Whyte ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 177.607 points earned so far this season.
