Owen Purcell (Upper Tantallon, NS) qualified for the 2021 Superstore Monctonian Challenge playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-2 against James Grattan (Oromocto, NB).

Purcell finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Purcell defeated Mike Kennedy (Fredericton, NB) 8-1, then won 5-2 against Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS) and 7-3 against Stuart Thompson (Halifax, NS). Purcell won 9-2 against Dan Crouse (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

Purcell earned 7.390 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Superstore Monctonian Challenge, moving up 47 spots the World Ranking Standings into 171st place overall with 13.203 total points.
