Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO) won 7-4 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the Final of the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships, held November 20 - 27, 2021 in Lillehammer, Norway. To advance to the championship game, Muirhead won 7-4 over Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER) in the semifinals
Muirhead finished 8-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muirhead defeated Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) 7-4, then won 8-2 against Madeleine Dupont (Hvidovre, DEN) and 8-5 against Hasselborg. Muirhead won 9-5 against Jentsch, then won 10-3 against Liisa Turmann (Tallinn, EST). Muirhead went on to lose 8-7 against Stefania Constantini (Trentino, ITA). Muirhead responded with a 9-1 win over Anna Kubeskova (Prague, CZE). Muirhead won 7-2 against Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI), then won 9-4 against Dilsat Yildiz (Erzurum, TUR) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships Championship title, Muirhead earned 73.082 world rankings points. Muirhead move up 5 spots after posting a net gain of 48.883 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 6th overall with 280.313 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Muirhead ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 138.321 points earned so far this season.
