Kovaleva won 7-4 against Jentsch, then won 7-5 against Stefania Constantini (Trentino, ITA) and 10-1 against Dilsat Yildiz (Erzurum, TUR). Kovaleva won 11-2 against Liisa Turmann (Tallinn, EST) in their final qualifying round match.
