Gushue went on to lose 5-3 against Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI). Gushue lost 7-4 to Edin where Gushue responded with a 10-5 win over Shuster. Gushue won 7-3 against Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA), then won 10-8 against Xiu Yue Ma (Beijing, CHN). Gushue went on to lose 7-6 against Sergei Glukhov (Moscow, RUS). Gushue lost 5-2 to Bruce Mouat (Stirling, UK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their third place finish at the Winter Olympics, Gushue earn 61.535 world rankings points, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 456.408 total points. Gushue ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 357.472 points earned so far this season.
