Kiiskinen finished 5-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kiiskinen defeated Sergio Vez (Vitoria-Gasteiz, ESP) 8-5, then won 7-6 against Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU) and 4-2 against Totzek. Kiiskinen won 6-3 against Lukas Hostmaelingen (Lillehammer, NOR), then won 5-4 against Bjorn Jungen (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
