Kristy Watling (Winnipeg, MB) lost 7-5 to Mackenzie Zacharias (Altona, MB) in the Final of the Manitoba Scotties, held December 14 - 19, 2021 in Carberry, Manitoba. To advance to the championship game, Watling won 8-6 over Kaitlyn Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals   of the 2022 Manitoba Scotties in Carberry, Manitoba; 
 
Watling finished 6-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Watling defeated Meghan Walter (East St. Paul, MB) 8-5, then won 11-3 against Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB) and 10-5 against Jennifer Clark-Rouire (Miami, MB). Watling won 7-4 against Jones, then won 9-7 against Tracy Fleury (East St. Paul, MB). Watling went on to lose 10-2 against Zacharias. Watling responded with a 10-7 win over Kristy McDonald (Winnipeg, MB). Watling went on to lose 7-5 against Darcy Robertson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Manitoba Scotties, Watling take home 21.271 world rankings points. Watling move up 5 spots after posting a net gain of 6.988 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 38th overall with 99.956 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Watling ranks 26th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 75.706 points earned so far this season.
