To advance to the championship game, Watling won 8-6 over Kaitlyn Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2022 Manitoba Scotties in Carberry, Manitoba;
Watling finished 6-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Watling defeated Meghan Walter (East St. Paul, MB) 8-5, then won 11-3 against Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB) and 10-5 against Jennifer Clark-Rouire (Miami, MB). Watling won 7-4 against Jones, then won 9-7 against Tracy Fleury (East St. Paul, MB). Watling went on to lose 10-2 against Zacharias. Watling responded with a 10-7 win over Kristy McDonald (Winnipeg, MB). Watling went on to lose 7-5 against Darcy Robertson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
