In their opening game, Young defeated Nick Mosher (Halifax, NS) 5-3, then won 10-3 against Rajan Dalrymple (Oromocto, NB) and 4-2 against Mitchell Schut (Cornwall, PEI). Young won 12-1 against Aaron Van Ryssel (Springfield, MB). Young went on to lose 9-6 against Daymond Bernath (Saskatoon, SK). Young responded with a 7-1 win over Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB). Young won 7-4 against Dylan Niepage (Guelph, ON), then won 8-2 against Adam Fenton (New Westminster, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
Young earned 12.920 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Canadian U21 Junior Mens Championship, moving up 17 spots the World Ranking Standings into 56th place overall with 61.884 total points.
