Greg Persinger (Fairbanks, AK) lost 8-6 to Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA) in the Final of the Curve US Open of Curling Contender, held August 27 - 29, 2021 at the Four Seasons Curling Club in Blaine, United States. To advance to the championship game, Persinger won 6-5 over Rich Ruohonen (Minneapolis, MN) in the semifinals
 
Persinger finished 3-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Persinger defeated Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO) 9-4, then won 7-1 against Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY). Persinger went on to lose 8-4 against Ruohonen. Persinger lost 5-4 to Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN) where Persinger responded with a 6-2 win over Jed Brundidge (East St. Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
