Yuta Matsumura (Kitami, JPN) won 9-7 over Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN) in the Final of the Japan Curling Championships, held February 8 - 14, 2021 in Wakkanai, Japan.

Matsumura finished 5-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Matsumura defeated Ryutaro Tani (Tokyo, JPN) 8-2, then won 8-4 against Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi (Karuizawa, JPN) and 9-2 against Maeda. Matsumura won 7-4 against Hiroki Yoshioka (Okayama, JPN), then won 6-5 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Matsumura went on to lose 8-5 against Maeda in their final qualifying round match.

Matsumura ranks 219th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.000 points earned so far this season.
