In their opening game, Young defeated Zackary Wise (Montreal, QC) 7-6, then won 5-3 against Chris Cogswell (Oromocto, NB) and 9-7 against Dan deWaard (Gatineau, QC). Young went on to lose 6-4 against Mike Bouchard (Sarnia, ON). Young responded with a 6-4 win over Canada's Charlie Richard.
